Xter movement slow to response

Hi

I am following through the 30 days challenge and I am working on a game idea similar to Phases concept. Need help on 2 issues:

- When I move the xter, its slow to response. How can I get it to respond immediately
- When the xter moves to left or right, it runs off to the edge and goes down

 

Change your character speed to a larger number and it should move faster. As far as falling down, you need platforms that your character can always jump or bounce on. If one isn't there then it will fall down.

 

You can also adjust your game frame settings so that your character won't get too close to the sides of the screen.

Sure thing, in the picture you posted here, you can see game frame settings to the left of the highlighted advanced game play settings text.

 

Oh I see what you mean. The issue I am having is when I increase the speed and then move the xter left or right, it just runs off to the edge instead of stopping sharp where my finger of mouse stops

Oh never mind, I found the issue. I needed to change the control style to Absolute

 

also you can adjust platform friction. This can make the surface slipperly like ice or stable like dirt.
