Inverting Game Controls For A Portion Of Time

Hi everyone,
Is there a way to invert the game controls for a certain amount of time for a landscape game similar to Impossible? I want the character's controls to be inverted for a brief amount of time and then reverted back (so for that time left click would result in the character moving right). Is this possible?

 

It should be by creating two exactly the same worlds with different UI and you switch between them.
