I Would Like Advice On Textures...

Any advice or guidelines on using textures. What is recommended for image size? I only have about 4 textures within my game but they seem to be slowing the gameplay down a little bit.

I know that the max size is 2040x2040 but is that overkill for a mobile game?

 

best i think to use 1000x1000 and press on view tab on top of the screen press atlases then press optimise this should help a little bit.
