Recently I have noticed that some game names aren't allowed on iTunes because they are already taken. I was wondering if there is some guru/oracle/bible where you can run a search to see if a name is taken?
Basically nope. other than searching the iTunes store to see if the game name is already being used. you can also use Google and search using these parameters site:itunes.apple.com inurl:mygamename (where mygamename is the name of your App). but there is no method (as far as I know) of finding out if a name is already reserved pending release. you can try the various searches above but ultimately you will not know 100% until creating a new App on iTunes Connect.
thanks. Yeah I searched the App Store sometimes and nothing appeared but when I set up my iTunes connect stuff, it said 'name taken'. It's a nightmare process and ranks right up there making a character name in World of Warcraft (sorry! name taken!) lol
