We have been engaged on this game for several months now. It will be complete soon! Please give feedback.
I am a bit concerned about the design and will try to stay close to what is the most popular apps as I design more games. This game has some darker colors and I noticed that most of the popular apps have more of a brighter colors rendered in as more 2D approach.
Its diffrent and sticks out, break out of the usual. I know its a buisness, but game design is a art.
Great trailer @Wings n Armor, looks like fun. I agree with @pfg215, stick with your gut and go with your original vision.
Thanks Phil I saw some of your art and excited to see more of your work. I love CGI and love digital sculpting!!! @Phill Mason @pfg215
My 8 year old son said the game reminds him of Metroid.... Sooooo... That's pretty awesome in my book. And hes right, it has a Metroid look to it
I would like to thank @Phill Mason ,@DeadlySeriousMedia ,@Simon Crack for their words of wisdom on our original icon design. Here are the old and new ideas after about 100 attempts! Original Idea: Over 100ish approach:
Make your icon more akin to the game design. The user will know exactly what they are getting - the new icon has no relevance to the game, use the tech/metallic feel. PS: where's the 3 icon screenshot from?
You guys have always been an inspiration since Natural Born Ninja Ok this is a good and vital point. Not sure how we will attack this but it must be looked at. It seems that most people are more attracted to the 2D app icon design. I even noticed some of the larger 3D game companies putting simple 2D designs on 3d Games. We will have to figure this one out. I tried it before but it looked crappy when shrunk down vs vector. I will try again. Thanks please feel free to give more feedback! @Kevin W
I still feel the icon should tie in and reflect the game, it's generally considered best design practice for a cohesive package. And blimey, that's a blast from the past for sure, and thanks for your kind kind words, very humbled and flattered
You are right-the icon is everything! We will take a very close look and approach to the icon as we get close to finishing. Time to brainstorm !!!!!! @Kevin W
We work closely with Appsolute and have a great working relationship. Was your icon screenshots from http://www.appsparky.com ?
I believe it was introduced in one of the forum chats and we have been using it so far along with makeappicon. @Kevin W
Any particular reason you are using makeappicon also? Appsparky let's you download all the icon sizes in a single zip without giving your email to them - any feedback would be awesome and sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread.
