How to Make a Game in 5 Minutes Tutorial
Easy, right?! As shown in the tutorial above, you can use any of our built-in templates to start building out your game instantly. In the video, led by Zack Griset, he walks you through the whole process of making a game called Astro Jump using the space shooter template. This cool avoidance style game was quickly made in roughly 2.5 minutes. Just by switching out the template assets with new ones, Zack had a completely different looking game. That’s the power of no-code and Buildbox! The entire development process is cut in half with the use of our smart assets and templates.
Speed Up Your Game Development
In the tutorial, Zack used a cute little astronaut pig as his main character, but you can choose to use any character that you want when you’re working with templates. The same goes for objects, enemies, and backdrops. In the video, Zack also uses lightning bolts as powerups and apples for his space pig to collect for points. However, you can easily switch out all of the graphics in this or any template. Make your game truly unique. And the best part? It only takes a few minutes to make a game from start to finish and have it ready to publish in the app store. In the video, Zack quickly polishes up the game, adding a game over UI with the best score, trophies, social links, and even a bonus reward video option for players.
With Buildbox, you can quickly prototype new game ideas and themes, and make changes on the fly. Plus you can test out different variations of your game in preview mode to see what’s working and what’s not. Our smart assets and templates inside of Buildbox speed up the development process. So, making a game is not only fast but easy to do too within Buildbox. We recommend playing around with the different templates in Buildbox to see what you can create!
Wow, nice thing.
