I have my Game Over screen fading in by placing a black screen over it and having the black screen autohide after .25 seconds, but I'm still jumping from the game to a black screen.

How can I fade out from the game, where my player character just bit the dust?

    Thank you.

add an image on your UI and animate its opacity on Open and Close Event on the animation bar at the bottom. If you don't have the animation bar you can find it under View on the Menu Bar.

All that can be done using the animation timeline in gui and game over screen. Try setting all your images and putting their opacity to 0, then go to your animation timeline and go to the open scene animation tab and start your animation at 0 then go over to whatever time you want and raise the opacity. That should give you the Fade-In animation, just turn off loop so it doesn't replay. Hope it helps
