Hello all, Is there anyway to stop actions casting shadows with lights? I've got invisible actions in my game unfortunately these are casting ugly shadows which I don't want. Help is much appreciated
Weird.. I use actions for distance, because the distance meter counts in pixels. So on every scene I have 3 actions (opacity = 0) and they don't cast any shadows? What sort of action is it?
Everything with a collision shape will cast shadows. And there is no way you can delete a collision shape. So yes, till there is no option to disable shadows individually for each object/action there is no way to not cast shadows. Or if there is, Cornerbox, I'd really would like to know how you did it.
This is what you mean right? (I just made a quick example) As you can see... this action doesn't block the shadow or something like that.
This must be something new. In earlier versions actions always casted shadows... I must check later. Thanks.
We did fix some issue recently regarding casting of shadows. Not sure if this exact "problem" was addressed or not. I would suggest submitting a sample BBDOC to support with explanation of wrong or unexpected behavior so we can look into if there is still an issue, a workaround or just some confusion.
Thanks for the replies, been away so only just seen them. @Cornerbox, Hmm for me the actions cast weird shadows when I run the game. I've imported a white square .png file as the action into Buildbox then set the opacity to '0'. @ Andy, thanks I'll send a ticket now.
I've seen similar issues with shadows on actions. I'm mainly using coin actions to count distance versus pixels. The objects have their opacity set to 0 and for the most part they are not noticeable. If I have lots of lights, or lights with different colors and multiple angles, the object is more noticeable. I've just had to work around the issue.
