I've been poking around. Even though it's a node-based program, I'm completely lost. I don't know what any of the nodes do. None of the example levels have what I would think of as classic game movement schemes. Platformer, FPS or RTS. Where do I read about what nodes do what? Is there any walkthroughs that build a game and explain what things do as they're doing? I know what I want to do, but I just have no idea how to put the nodes together to make it do what I'm thinking. I can't even figure out how to get the keyboard button / move nodes to do anything. Some tooltips would be nice.
Hi AllanMac. BB3 is loaded with example scenes for you to play with. But yes, as of now, you need to figure out a lot on your own FPS or RTS type of game is not something you are going to create only with nodes. Nodes are great for "I can control everything with one touch" type of gameplay.
Have a look at these https://www.buildbox.com/forum/index.php?threads/buildbox-3-alpha3-friday-fun-with-nodes.13237/ and the tutorials tab in the software. There is starter tutorial there.
