What is up folks I realise there was a page put up for the 2.3 release listing all the major changes: https://www.buildbox.com/announcing-buildbox-2-3-0-release/ But quickly surfing around these boards, I'm finding posts that are highlighting new functionality and features I had absolutely no clue existed! Is it possible that on the next update there could be a Full list of what's new? It would be super helpful to understand all the awesome new stuffs that you guys have added along with any known bugs so we can see a birds eye view of what's working and what isn't, kinda like a living breathing post. May save a lot of dev time and headaches. Thanks
Yeah, i always find some new thing that wasn't mentioned. Would be for sure more beneficial to have a list. Even if its a dev log. Versus a slimmed down log. I wanna even see stuff like "More security features added to prevent P" we don't say the P word around here....lol
Hi Kevin, have you seen our release posts we do in the "official announcement" section? This should show an overview of all features and fixes for each release, as well as the release notes when updating. Nik and the development team also started a dev blog that goes over each release in more detail, from a development point of view. Here's the one from 2.3.3: 2.3.3 Dev Blog Post This was the second in the series, and they are planning it for every release with major changes. We definitely do want to add additional resources, like a list of known bugs, to our website this year. A plan to do so is in the works, but first we want to finalize our soon to be launched knowledgebase and tutorial sections
Hey @Buildbox - appreciate the reply, awesome! I do try to keep an eye on the release posts as much as I can, I think they're a much welcomed addition, although I do have to say, a fair amount of the changelogs entries are somewhat mysterious to me. As I'm dipping in to see if there is anything I need to be aware of, I just wish there was a little more info / explanation that's all... EG: from Release 2.3.2 for example: fixed: multile issues with Start scene fixed: possible BBDOC corruption fixed: Mindmap crash Anyways, my main point was, as I don't get over here as much as I'd like to, is that I came across this thread: https://www.buildbox.com/forum/inde...ficial-way-to-get-lots-of-free-ratings.12323/ I don't recall ever seeing this announced and it's pretty huge, and has significant impact on how we will build our projects, so that got me thinking what else I could have missed. I hope this comes across in the spirit that it is intended and not combative. Thanks again Team BB
Exactly the same happened to me @Kevin W - I had no idea about that feature until someone mentioned in the telegram group. I would have used that feature in some latest updates if I had known about it on time. Great idea about having a full log of new features!
Yeh, I only discovered the Review feature last week and tested it for the first time a few days ago to see what it was, otherwise I wouldn’t have known either. It’s a great feature. Props to BB for including it.
Hi Guys, Just spoke with the dev team and it seems most of these issues were with the 2.3.0 release. This was an odd case as it was more than 6 months in development, and admittedly, a few things got left out of the final release notes (which shouldn't have been). If you guys have seen this in releases past 2.3.0, please let me know. Also, we've created a new system for multiple people to check, and expand on, the points we have in the release notes so they are more clear. As always, appreciate you bringing it to our attention and we'll make this smoother for you. Thanks!
I'd like to see explanations for everything to go into a lot more depth. The user guide kind of just lists where things are without actually explaining what the settings are doing in detail. Don't be afraid of sounding too complex. Thorough explanations would reduce questions in the forum. If someone doesn't understand, someone else will and explain it to them on here.
Here's another one that is new and I still do not know what it does exactly and why it was introduced. And now that we can track scores with Game Analytics this becomes probably an even more important question: What is Global Distance/Coins/Points and why would we want this to be selected here and in what exactly affects it the game?
Thanks @wesam_badr you explained this already once to me. My question is more though: why would I want that? And what does it affect in my game? Is it only the leaderboard? Does it affect Event Observers? Anything else we should be aware? I mean this was introduced for a specific gameplay I can imagine. But some extra information would be great.
Was this document posted somewhere public? I'm having trouble with having multiple places to look for information and not sure which is the most current and the best information.
Lol, that was me testing our new knowledge base application. It was not supposed to go live, it was just an example I was showing the team on how we should format articles. Must have published by accident. We will be launching this knowledge base in about 1 month with a ton of content like this to help you guys. It will be linked from the main site int he support section.
FYI removing that article until I can get clarification that I explained the feature correctly. I did not create this one, so i want to confirm. Thanks for pointing it out though @Christoph . I knew there was another one I was missing...
