thers is also appstoremarketing@apple.com you should write a Compelling Email including a video of your game to make it really easy for the reviewer to take a quick look to see if it’s worthy of a feature. and mention that fact that your game is trending etc... like fellow said
don't forget to Twitter tweet a post of the game with a mention to the AppStore page that the game is new
Did you use your own Admob account? Think Gaming estimates that Color Switch gets about 20k downloads per day in the US alone: https://thinkgaming.com/app-sales-data/91467/color-switch/ I'm sure worldwide will be much more. I wouldn't be surprised if you earn 5, or even 6 figures in a month Any interest in sharing downloads/revenue data like @dan_counsell did with Almost Impossible?
What is this trending games section? Never saw this before. And as I already said somewhere else, I'm certain that Apple features right now games that are working on the aTV + some other games (very few) that include a lot! of extras and components like several characters, in app purchase, levels, localized in several languages, etc. They are interested in games which are able to make a lot of money during the holiday season, which is also a 30% cut for themselves. Rayman Adventures has a lot of in-app purchases and it is featured a second time this week in the US appstore. How about that? That much about Apple helping indie developers. But still, @Machine Rises, your download stats are incredible. Without getting a feature you already crossed 200,000 downloads today and you're getting more and more. You are the living proof that not everything depends on Apple. Thinking about it, I'm surprised that publishers like Buildbox Games (for example) do not go this route and simply just hope for a feature.
@Christoph where are you guys finding all these stats?! I didn't even know I had 200K downloads?! It's a myriad of things that makes a successful launch I'm learning. But a feature does not guarantee that. I have seen many games that were not that great get featured and tank. If you feature something people don't really want then it will be a short boost from what I've seen. I feel like I had lightening in a bottle with this one. I just waited for the right set up before I went ahead with my pub. I sat on this egg for 5 months.
I'd like to know too where you can check out the download stats. By the way @Machine Rises how many scenes do you have?
As I said earlier this are estimates taken from the game center stats but from what I have seen (and researched) they are pretty accurate. When between 10,000 and 5,000,000 registered game center users it is more or less x2 and you get the total downloads. If you have more, then it goes sporadically down. For example Crossy Roads has 30,000,000 registered game center users but near to 80,000,000 downloads on ios. Shadows for example has now 171,000 registered users and should have 300,000-350,000 downloads total. Color Switch has now 145,000 and the total downloads should be more or less at 300,000.
Actually the calculus is lot more complex than this but this does not matter here. Stats companies are also take into account other publicly available data like number of rates and reviews. (And I just hope ads and analytics companies not trading with our data lol)
@Christoph wow around 300K awesome! Has only been five days since launch. @trygii I think I have about 120 scenes. I'm adding more at the moment for an update. Should be done with that some time tonight.
I have sent message to this email and I wanted to let you guys know that this one is not working anymore Congrats @Machine Rises on this great game
