Just wanted to ask if anyone has some magic tricks up his/her sleeves to make a menu UI appear randomly. Lets say I have 3 Main Menu UIs and want them to appear each at different moments, shuffling them when the user starts the game or when he dies or comes back.
(For when you start) You could have a game world where there are 3 random scenes with menu jumps that the character touches. I would have a white or black object covering the world with the menu jumps and a white or black image fading out in all of the ui screens to give a better illusion. (When you die) You could use a trick I do when creating random character unlocks like crossy. You have the 3 invisible navigation buttons set to each world and edit them in the timeline editor to move across the screen and then loop back very quickly (Make sure they are moving behind your retry button and that the retry button doesn't have any function). This will trigger a random menu ui everytime you press the retry button. This trick eally only works if you don't restart the game automatically but instead navigate back to the menu. Hope this makes sense I am terrible at explaining things
Thanks brakewind. I didn't understand the first one (for when I start), the second one could probably work for what I want. Excellent. Still, could you elaborate the first one a little more? And what are you doing exactly with random character unlocks? Is this different then the random unlock already part of Buildbox?
@Christoph Oh sure! Here is a video I just made: For the unlocks, fundamentally they are the same but the trick I use lets me be able to make like a little prize machine or whatever instead of your character just randomly being revealed on the selector
A . M . A . Z . I . N . G !!!! Holy mother of all gods. I never would have thought that this was possible. I don't even know what to say. But yeah, this is exactly what I need. Thank you very much professor. I'm forever in your debt.
you can also make the same thing to randomize worlds instead of ui its same principle it was mentioned in an other thread in the forum thanks @brakewind723 for the video demonstration.
Has anyone had any issues with Open Animations repeating after a while, when using this method to randomise Worlds/UI?
