I'm setting up my new game to include both IAP and Ads, here's the price and frequency: The game is in the same vein as most BB games, e.g. Death happens frequently. IAP: Remove Ads - $1.99 (Tier 2) Skip Level - 99ยข (Tier 1) Banner Ads: - Pause Screen, Frequency 1 - Game Over Screen, Frequency 1 Interstital Ads: Pause Screen, Frequency 4 Game Over Screen, Frequency 7 All ads are setup as iAd with a fallback of AdMob. Does anyone with live games in the App Store have any advice on ways to improve this? Thanks, Dan
I would not add any interstitial ads to the pause screen. Better for a good user experience AdMob spoke out some recommendations regarding the interstitial frequency. It is good if you don't show the next interstitial ad before 90 seconds. Usually an interstitial frequency of 6 to 7 should be fine for your type of game. IAP: Skip Level - It is possible that Tier 2 will do better

The days of getting as many ad impressions/clicks as possible are pretty much over. Only quality offerings that do not irritate the consumer (too much) have sticking power.
Totally agree, I'm used to making quality paid apps so you can be sure I'm aiming to make the ads not get in the way. Will remove the interstitial from the pause screen, and bump the skip level IAP to Tier 2. Thanks guys.
I like your strategies @dan_counsell and I will need to try something like that out in one of my upcoming games. Also, I've never tried any incentivized video ads yet, but I am wondering, has anyone had any good luck with using ONLY incentivized video ads to do away with all interstitials and banners for a better user experience?
