Hello BB Folks, I have tested the BuildBox 3 Alpha version, and I am very impressed with how fast and easy to design and develop your game with it, The only flaw is the random crashing which I am sure buildbox team will sort it out in future releases. I would like to see a 2D sprite animation support for the 3D scene to develop 2.5d games!. I want to say, Just adding this feature can change the whole game experiences and open the door for unlimited possibilities within buildbox 3 . I have already attached an image to explain my ideas: I am sorry if this already included or planned by the BuildBox team, If it's already there, I hope to see a tutorial for how to make it. Regards.
Hi @Qdeveloper you just add an animation node and connect it to start. You can even make it follow the character rotation as well:
Check your email, even in the SPAM folder. You have to have an email with the download link for Windows and for MAC.
You sure? Seems like he was trying to bring 2D sprites into the 3D world? In my fast example I attached it to a 3D object, but you don't HAVE to do that.
Haha I know I was just poking fun of the giant rainbow that was flopping around. I believe you can. I think for Alpha 1 there was a video where @ZackGriset used png images for an 8 directional character.
That's super cool man, The only concern now is to make the animated sprites **keep facing the camera** just like how Mario 64 trees look and the barrel in old doom games Example:
