Why is it that when I set a platform to have a specific velocity to move downwards when the character collides with it, sometimes it will go down, but then other times it will go up? Also, I have two platforms right next to each other with the same linear velocity set to move downwards but one will down and one will go up. Thanks guys
If your platform is rotated this may be the case. The velocity will move relative to the rotation so if it is set to 0 you should expect normal results.
Oh I believe the squiggle area is a randomizer so it's doing exactly what your telling it to. Move the 6 to the left. That area is absolute
Sorry for late replay, INKY is right behind the "squiggle" will make the values have a velocity moving anything from 0 to 6. Always put your numerals in front unless you want to achieve that function.
Thank you both very much! This worked. I was lost for a minute because the platform was still moving upwards but I realized I needed to make it a negative for it to go down. Much appreciated.
Actually, if you have on the left 0 and on the right 6 it will move between -6 and 6 (it's a randomizer in both directions, minus and plus). That's why sometimes it went up and sometimes it went down.
and also, using a negative scale will do funky things with direction... it will see it as "rotated"... something to keep in mind
