Didn't see a better place to post this. no general discussion area etc. So, i have my own wishlist for BB, wanted to know yours. 1. New game type possibilities. Out of all, PUZZLE GAMES would be my biggest want. Be awesome if they could add some RPG stuff too. 2. Ability to directly export .apk files for android. If youve ever messed with the ever so cheaply made software from APPMK, they do this. hit export, enter details...bam..apk. Eliminates the need for eclipse etc. 3. In time, implement soundbox, animation box and iconbox into BB. in time....lol. 4. Not BB related but it would be awesome if they made NEW box software for other things than gaming. like...CoverBox, then you can chose cover type, Book, Music, Poster etc, then drag and drop their designs as well as your own. Could also make a WebBox. drag and drop website builder. i think their software is capable of this stuff. are ou writing this all down guys!? CutsceneBox......now that...would be epic.
Strange. General discussion didn't show up on my laptop. Soon as I got on tablet....there it is lol. Mods, move this for me?
there is a feature request forum... but I saw you mention somewhere that this isn't the authorized account so maybe you can't see it.. i dunno
I see it on tablet but not on laptop lol. This isn't a request, just general discussion. To see what other ideas people have.
Transitions to different menus like fade or swoosh Also the ability to have someones music play during gameplay as well.
Wasn't this implemented already in 1.3.6 and beta 2.0? I remember @Andy saying that this was at the very top of their list some time back.
I add music to main menu and no where else, the music still plays during gameplay. If I want different music during gameplay, I add music to game guI menu. Unless you mean the ability for a character to walk to to an object, press a switch and a song starts playing.
Would love to see....dunno how to explain this....in rpgs....when you walk around and the camera follows you. You go north, Camara follows....south....east...west....then we could build adventure style games.
Long distance depending on your deletion threshold. Check out @VectologyGames WIP posts. https://www.buildbox.com/forum/index.php?threads/vectology-games-dev-blog.691/
Nice post. Hope that the mods/ developers of Buildbox would implement the suggestions Multiplayer/ co-op options. BB is an awesome piece of software but too much single player focussed RPG/ Strategy elements Those 2 are my top picks
Here some of my wishlist: 1- Google/Flurry Analytic support (Add hidden object with string name/ and Analytic ID) (Can be active on scene or button press , Or when object destroy) 2- Create APK Directly from Export using BuildBox engine: (Many game tools/engines have this, I don't see why is not with BuildBox ?) 3- Angry Bird Gameplay Style Template. 4- Simple Event system for World Scene (Advanced Users), That support the Following: - Event active on (Every Step, Play once, or When Button pressed) - (If , Else, Or, And) Conditions. - Sprite image read condition per (Animation / Per Frame). - Sound Read for checking. - Variables (Create, Add, Sub, Read). - Global Variables (Can be accessed through multiple scenes). - (Transform/Rotate/Scale/Spawn/Destroy) Function Access to other objects/Characters. *This can be either like C2 event sheets or Visual Scripting (like scratch) 5- INI Files support for Offline Saving (Cross Platform).
I ponder....to get games up on playstation, Xbox stores or even nintendo market, would one just export pc code then port it using other software? Or could bb have those export options as well?
I have used many game engine, For Android mostly they take care of it through linking the android sdk and select the keystore within the GameEngine IDE, And creating the APK directly without bothering using other tools like Eclipse/Android Studio etc. I can understand the need of Xcode for iOS, but I don't know why it's the same for Android? Especially BB is marketed as the easiest tool for non coders.
