Medium
For those unfamiliar with the publishing platform, Medium was created by Evan Williams, Twitter co-founder and former CEO. The social infused blogging platform was designed to give users the ability to go beyond Twitter’s original 140-character limitations to express their thoughts.
Since 2012, the site has grown significantly, and now it’s a favorite stomping ground for people from all over the world to share their perspectives and tips on the topics that matter.
You can blog, read, and find stories based on your interests. There are tons of different categories focused on topics like tech and gaming, culture, politics, business, and life.
Users can comment, recommend articles that they like with ‘claps,’ and instantly share their favorites on Twitter, Facebook, and other platforms. They also takes things up a notch with their commenting features. Not only can you comment on a post, but you can also highlight a section in the article that you’re referring to in your comment. It’s a neat twist on the traditional way we post comments.
Medium is free to use, and you can sign up using your Twitter, Facebook, or email account. Once you sign up, you can choose topics of interests and start following any publications that you like. The publications that you follow will appear on your homepage similar to your feed on Facebook or Twitter. When you follow a publication or author, you’ll also receive a notification whenever they post new content.
