Buildbox Game Spotlight: Cyber Drive

This week’s game spotlight is TapMen Games’ Cyber Drive. It won second place in our Buildbox Cyberpunk Game Jam and has already been featured in the app store in multiple countries like China, Japan, the UK, France, Russia, Germany, Australia, Canada, and more. Plus, it was also ranked Top 100 in 11 different countries! Impressive, right?!

Cyber Drive – The Fifth Element, Buildbox Style

It’s hard not to love Cyber Drive. This 3D futuristic action arcade game built in Buildbox 3 transports players into a cyberpunk world complete with flying cars. Much like the 90’s film, The Fifth Element, the traffic in the future is no joke. In the game, you’re a driver that’s running late, so you decide to take a downward dive through the heavy traffic to get to your destination on time. You’ll have to become master of the air to survive all of the moving cars, trains, and obstacles like pipelines, bridges, and even flying saucers that get in your way. Luckily, you can swipe to move your vehicle in any direction. The controls are smooth and practically effortless, but the game itself is challenging. 

As players progress, the speed and number of oncoming vehicles increase with the game’s upbeat tempo. With no lanes, just air, it’s up to you to judge the distance of the flying cars as you get closer to colliding. Timing and strategy are everything—one wrong move and it’s game over. In Cyber Drive, both the level and endless mode are a lot of fun to play. Plus, throughout the game, you can collect coins that can later be used to unlock cool new vehicles. 

The graphics in this game are also stunning. Players get to step into a 3D cyberpunk world like no other. From the colorful flying cars and blinking neon lights to the floating blimp that says, “The World is Yours,” Cyber Drive takes you there. You feel like you’re zooming through a city in a distant future. It’s an addicting action arcade game that’s definitely worth playing.
