Today, we’re shining a light on Darius Guerrero, the mastermind behind AppSir Games, who snagged the top spot in our recent Buildbox + Cure Leukaemia Game Jam.
The challenge?
Create a game centered around curing leukaemia using any version of Buildbox and share it on the Buildbox World app for all to enjoy. We wanted to showcase the creativity in the community and support Cure Leukaemia.
Inspired by “Games for Good” by Jude Ower and Mathias Gredal Nørvig, this event aimed to harness the collective creativity of our community of game developers to support a meaningful cause, raising both awareness and funds. Each winner will have a donation made on their behalf to Cure Leukaemia.
Darius’s game entry, Leuko Tales, didn’t just meet the criteria to win—it blew us away with its powerful storytelling.
His game won him first place, scoring $500, the Ultimate Bundle (Buildbox Classic Pro, Buildbox 4 Pro, and Soundbox) for a year, and 1,000 Buildbux coins!
Leuko Tales is available to play right now for free on the Buildbox World app via the App Store or Google Play.
So, let’s take a closer look at this inspiring game!
Leuko Tales
In Leuko Tale, players step into the shoes of a little boy recently diagnosed with Leukaemia. It’s up to you to cure the disease. Swipe to make the medicine dash attack the leukemia cells. With each level clearing, you get closer to a full recovery. Players must use strategy to clear each level and heal themselves.
The game covers the different stages, from initial symptoms to doctor visits, testing, and treatment, making it both educational and inspirational. When you get stuck in the game, you will receive a motivational quote to help you keep pushing through.
“Don’t give up, plan your moves well, there’s always a way.”
From start to finish, Leuko Tale is an inspiring game that combines the best aspects of action-based puzzles while educating players about Leukaemia.
If you know anyone impacted by cancer, share the link to this inspirational game with them. Let’s uplift and support others through games!

Congratulations again to Darius Guerrero for winning first place. If you didn’t get the opportunity to participate in this game jam, don’t worry. We’ll host another game jam soon, so stay tuned for that announcement!
