Buildbox 3 is good for making a quick concept and to generate ideas right now. Unless you're trying to make the 1 billionth version of some hyper...
I mean, I get that people who don't think or even know about game development efficiencies won't care so it's not a huge issue, but at the same...
So I'm looking BB3 over and seeing what it can do. It seems well thought out for the most part. I like the concept of the BBAssets, it's similar...
Any time you split a vertex normal you essentially make a copy of a vertex. This is the same thing as making a hard edge instead of a soft edge....
The little helper window is a nice touch. It's starting to look like a professional game engine. Keep it up.
You don't need to use those. They're most likely used to ensure there is no gimbal lock on rotations. You can just use the normal rotation...
Yeah, Playmaker is a concept design tool, not a final game building tool. It's quick to put some basic logic together to get things moving. You...
Sure I want it, but at the same time they're probably delaying it since users can't even import a static mesh correctly right now. Adding FBX will...
Playmaker is just a finite state machine. It's really limited in what it can do. If you really want to make games and be free to do whatever you...
I don’t think they have the man power to constantly update BB2 and 3 at the same time. BB2 is kind of pointless to support at this point....
I think the UI stuff needs an overhaul. I want to be able to script as necessary. There’s a ton of things we could do for mobile games if we had...
Your origin point should always be at zero. You can however offset the model from the origin point. It doesn't have to be directly inside or even...
You should reset all transforms on 3D objects when you’re done modeling. That includes position, scale and rotation. Everything should be zeroed...
Thanks for the update. How are the API docs coming along?
You can’t. You can manipulate transforms like scale and rotation, but that’s it for now.
You just create a trigger that takes you to the next world. We don't have the API yet so no one knows how yet, but it should be possible.
You need a separate BB3 license. You get one for free. Login at www.buildbox.com and see all of your licenses.
You installed BB3 into the folder of BB2. They need to be completely separate to work. Uninstall everything and start over.
I can get them to show up exactly how I stated. The issue is that saving changes seems to be buggy at the moment. It is fully functional though....
Add the attributes along with whatever settings you want then exit out of the objects node window and then go back in. Everything should be there.
