Hi, i have installe BB on windows but i have big problems to work with it. The software go complety slow and lag, during production and test. For saving a file it take some minute and crash many times My pc spec: CPU: intel 4,40 ghz quad core ram: 32gb ddr3 1333 GPU dual SLI Nv Geforce Titan x 12gb ram Monitor Asus PG278Q 27" hdd: samsung SSD RED 512GB Win 8.1 enterprise 64bit full update gpu card drivers full updated Please help me to solve
Is this happening to all your BB games? - Check your task manager and see how much memory BB is using - Check how much memory you have left - If you enable Commit Size in task manager, what is the value for Buildbox executable? As seen in my case below, Photoshop though appears to be using less memory but its paging a lot of its work to the disk (over 4GB)
How big is your game? If you open a new/blank project, is it still slow? If a blank project works fine and fast, it's your project being to large. Once you get a lot of assets and many scenes, with lots of connections and objects. Buildbox really starts to slow down on my PC too. I have 30 levels of GWON finished and it takes 10-15 seconds to save a file, 5-7 seconds to add a new object. If a blank project is also slow, you should email support@buildbox.com They're always quick to answer, and love creating tickets.
it's not really big. 6 scenes and, when i was on mac all working good. I dont have any mac now and on windows go slowly
My PC has lower resources than yours and BB is not showing problems besides the occasional crash. From the task manager you can see that BB is not the main cause of the computer running slow
try closing other apps, and see what happens. or check the cpu usage. sometimes 100% cpu utilization can cause the pc to freeze or slow.
Yesterday I noticed that there was a major Windows 10 update that slowed down dramatically my laptop. Same scenario shown by @MethGames : I ultimately reversed the update to get everything in working order again. Check if only Bb is affected or also other apps are affected.
This is interesting. I have Photoshop on my MacBook Pro and the iOS simulator lags something horrible. But the BB simulator is OK. I wonder if PS is part of my problem. Interesting indeed...
Ok guys, after days and night's without sleep, I finally found the problem and solve it. In the past days i have finish to upgrade my Workstation setting with: Quad SLI Nvidia Titan X for totally 48GB ram, new MOBO for dual CPU 12 core Xeon 128GB RAM DDR3 1600 monitor setup with 3 x Asus PG279Q 27" 4k G-Sync and 1 DELL SP 4K-HD 40" I spent many times in 3d renders and with my 3d games developing suite (Unreal Engine), and this setup for me it incredible good. The problems with BuildBox: I have try to install Win 7 and BB dosen't work good.... Crash, Mouse Lag, Preview Freez etc I have try to install win 8.1 and same problems persist I have try whit win 10 and NO COMMENT...bad bad bad!!! I was near to full resignation and i have re-install my win 8.1 enterprise and I had decided to use BB on my hackintosh During Unreal Engine installation, It asks me to choose the screen frequency ... I had 3 screen at 144mhz and 1 at 120mhz... I have open the unreal Popup for setting the screens and i have see the same mouse lag that i had on BB. Ok, now for testing I have set all my screens at 60mhz and the mouse lag on Unreal was stopped. At this point I have try to re-install BB, but mouse lag and Preview Freez was little bit low but not much better. I try to play with Nvidia configuration pannel and finally found a perfect setup for solving BB issue. My GPU and Screen profile for using Build Box on my workstation is: Setting Monitor at max 60mhz disable Monitor Frequency from GPU management disable Sterioscopic 3D in quad SLI drivers (BB working better) disable the CUDA Particles Render from all SLI set (BB working much better and much faster) disable G-Sync from monitors (Finally ended the mouse lag on level develop and preview) Whit the following last settings I have totally solved the lag preview video and freezing (disable Nvidia screen color/gamma management) (enable source video color/gamma management) (disable SLI for 2d source video input) (enable SLI without Cuda Drivers for 2d/Uknow Source Video) aaaand finally all working GOOD. At moment BB dosent work good with monitor on 144mhz and 120mhz or with monitor G-Sync Activated (same Win or Mac). I know my english are sadly bad, but i hope this can help you guys.
